AB de Villiers's Bat
« on: November 26, 2012, 04:36:01 AM »

Was watching the game and whilst view was from stump camera, if my eyes don't deceive me. I think I saw 'P15000' written, now the only pictures I have found are below. if someone can get better pictures then that would be great.

Now I know that 'P15000' denotes for CA bats, and toe shape along profile does look very CAish. Won't mind being proven wrong :)

Cheers

It does seem that he's got some tape over where the 'Kooka Big Edge' sticker should be.

It does indeed say P15000. Noticed for quite some time that he has strapping tape on the edges of most of his bats, right where the CA logo would go.

But surely the p1500 is a sticker so he can take off as I've never seen them burn the model in just ca??

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

He used Kohli bats in IPL last year. Not surprising.

I was lucky enough to be a net bowler for the SAfrican's when they were in England and he does use CA bats.  Would have guessed that Kooka would have been able to offer something as good...

it is strange how many players use different bats to there sponsors. You would think these brands could make something that the sponsored players would like, other than the cash.

Probably more hassle than it's worth, I'd be surprised if 1% of viewers noticed his bat wasn't a kook, never mind saw it was a CA.

No, it is a stamp although it is not burned like CA/CG logo on your bat for example.
