Visiting kookaburra and gray nicolls
« on: December 11, 2012, 10:35:47 PM »

Just then the pics posted from Kookaburra factory got me thinking can John public just rock up to pick a new bat, softs etc?

I know that you can't visit gray nicolls unless you have a custom bat booking or you couldn't a few years ago.

Is this the same for both of these big companies?

pretty sure it is - certainly when I asked if I could pop in and choose a replacement for the broken Kahuna that they (very kindly) offered me I was gently declined...

You can rock up to grays if you want to pay through the nose. Even the factory visits, like legend experience etc are cheaper via a retailer.

Kookaburra is literally a warehouse anyway, not sure anyone but a retailer would want to visit for a day out

As a follow up to this, we will soon be offering the opportunity to visit Kookaburras warehouse with us and handpick the bat you have purchased yourself, this opportunity is available at any time of the year, as we hand pick bats all year round not just initial stock orders like many retailers.

There will be a nominal fee on top of the cost of the bat, but hopefully many people will see the value in getting to go through the same experience as all of kookaburras professionals.

Anyone looking to take advantage of this offer should contact me via pm or email jake@vitascricket.co.uk

When you say on top of cost do you mean the normal cost you sell them for mate?

Yes, you will buying the bat from us at the normal price, and then paying a small fee on top to secure an appointment to accompany us to the warehouse. You are free to meet us there or myself/robin can drive you from our place.
