There's life in the ole gal yet!
« on: December 13, 2012, 07:30:27 PM »

The time of year has come to dig out old faithful and see just how bat a shape she is in. Having used her for the last 4 seasons since obtaining her off of Roco I reckon she must have scored a good couple of thousand runs thus far  :-[

Having peeled off the cursed fibre edge tape it revealed a few more wounds to the toe area that would need some tlc.

Bit of glue and clamping seems to have done the trick and a good clean up has her back to looking like her old rather beat up self again.

Before...

After

With a self heal anti-scuff and perhaps one horizontally wrapped around her she lives to fight another day and is Hopefully good for a few more runs yet :)

Yes mate carrying some serious war wounds hence the dowelled toe to hold it together, large split up the side and today's injuries too.

Saying that even at full price it's looking like £100 a season which is damn good value in my books for how well it performs.

Defo one to get copied with the shape and handle before it falls to pieces. :) in fact might be best to send it off to someone now before its stickers etc again ???

Who's keen ;)

They are truly sensational bats.

One thing we all can learn from this is that, if you take good care of your bat (that would be only possible if you're persistent with it) then you can really squeeze best out of it.

These cost around 450 GBP so if you use for four years it becomes 112.5 GBP a year which is peanuts..

No it was a gun but did not feel right for me so glad it went to a touch player to get some use

This is my bat. There are many like it but this one is mine. My bat is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my bat is useless. Without my bat I am useless. I must swing my bat true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to bowl me. I must smash him before he bowls me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my bat and myself are defenders of my stumps, we are the masters of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but victory. Amen.
