Yes. Excluding bonuses. X factor players like Pietersen will be closer to £250k mark, I'd have thought.

I would be suprised if Pieterson was only on £250k from Adidas.

It is a huge gamble though as i believe Woodworm got into big trouble due to the amount they paid Flintoff and Pieterson and never there money back. Even though every team i played then and now seemed to have at least 1 player using a Woodworm

250k to Adidas would hardly dent there profits . When we had rubel Hussain and sulimen Benn using our gear they both did so for free . I did hear a rumour Matt prior was after 450k for a new sponsor ...

He is good but bloody hell that is a lot. I take it that would be over a minimum of 3-5 years? Massive gamble though as a couple of bad tours and any player could be dropped.  Bloody HUGE amount of only then playing county cricket

£450k is based on a 3 year deal I'd think. I've been told he wanted £20k for the India series or £125k a year.

Pietersen was rumoured @ £1m for whole career at Woodworm, Adidas figures haven't been released.

I think with cricket being a massive market due to t20 cricket Ipl etc ,the players are now ripping the (No Swearing Please) out of it demanding what they want ... At the other end major companies are dropping average county players ,to cut there wage/sponsorship deals

I think with cricket being a massive market due to t20 cricket Ipl etc ,the players are now ripping the bottom out of it demanding what they want ... At the other end major companies are dropping average county players ,to cut there wage/sponsorship deals

Would that be a good thing to get the smaller companies out there and seen?

I personally can't see many youngsters or players taking notice of most county players kit. At the end of the day it's the guys playing Tests or ODI's that are the ones worth sponsoring IMO.

Some average county player (as good as they are!) really isn't going ot help you shift many <insert brand> bats/pads/gloves etc.

Sadly all the contracts I signed had confidentiality agreements, so can't share exact details. But the figures I've quoted earlier reflect what I/we were paying players and what we had been quoted.

For a County bowler most will be kit only. Even a decent county batsman will be kit only or on a small retainer (<£5k) + bonuses. Big bucks only hits when they play IPL or international cricket.

Getting sponsored by Jaguar would be nice, I think all the England Centrally contracted players get a free Jag!
