Digital Recording of Net sessions

So I would like to buy a digital video camera and tripod. What are people's opinions on the best ones for recording batting sessions??

ANy links etc would be appreciated.

dont get anything to expensive if it gets hit it will break...
i use a cheap jessops tripod and a flip hd video cam that was like 60 quid

does the job fine

Simmy, got any links for the kit you've got? I can go into a shop this weekend and set myself up. Got another 5 days off work so want to net for a few hours a day. Wouldn't mind having it all going on monday if possible

1 x Sandisk 8GB Extreme SDHC Memory Card

1 x Jessops Tecno Shoulder Bag - Medium

1 x Jessops Major Carbon Fibre Tripod

1 x Manfrotto 80cm Unpadded Tripod Bag - MBAG80N


I've gone for these items and will be collecting sunday at 10am. Should using them in sunday afternoons session and all next week. Going to be interesting to see myself :)

'all the gear no idea' could be relevant but I will try. I'll be trying to record tomorrow's session. Just got to work out how to edit it. NOt sure you guys want two hours of me batting :)

I dont mind if its 2 hours haha! Im still on the holidays and have absolutely nothing to do so would rather see a net then gaze into the sky all day haha! :)

There are a number of specialist packages available, Quinitc, Dartfish, Silicon Coach being a few that can be used to clip the film down and help produce detailed analysis.  Alternatively you can use windows movie maker which can be used quite effectively to trim down the film.  Perhaps the easiest way though is to get someone to keep pressing record and stop for each ball to reduce the gap between each segment of action!
