Bats through time
« on: December 31, 2012, 11:35:50 AM »

Was thinking about bats I have had & though I would share & compare.

1st bat GM Scoremaster(size 5)
GM Imperial (harrow)
Kookaburra Superpower(snapper after 6weeks)
Kookaburra Superlegend
Huntsy County reflex
CA Style
Kookaburra Ridgeback Probe
Fake MRF Genius (UT? as came in UT bat cover got 40odd then sold as too heavy)
Bernie Facer blank bat
GM Maxi (i think no stickers)
Kookaburra Sword
Bradbury M300
SAF bats Erus
SS Ton Professional
SAF Hades

Think thats it I have only included bats used & not ones bought & sold without using in matches

Interesting,  some blasts from the past in that list  :)

My list

GN Sabre (size 5)
DF Magnum (harrow)
GN Excalibur
Kookaburra Diablo
GN carbo, forgotten the model :(
Centurion
GN Powerbow
Newbery Mjolnir
Newbery Samurai Cadbury
Blank Bat
And now a Red Ink!

I can only account for the current whereabouts of around half of that list! Wish I still had the Excalibur, lovely bat

Started playing cricket at 15 so missed all the old school gear.

Kookaburra Bubble
John Newbery poly coated bat
Slazenger V100
GN Sabre
GN Longbow
Kookaburra Kahuna Carnage
MRF Genius
Slazenger SXI elite
Newbery Thruxton 5 star

The bubble and newbery were club relic's that flew but were far too heavy.

Woodworm Flame Premier
Kookaburra Genesis Whirlwind
Kippax Legend LE (Bargain for £110 I think)
CA Gold
Puma Xbow 3000
Adidas Incurza Club
GM Apex 606
Asian bat (Cricpro?)
Asian bat (AM, but fake I think)
Asian bat
Hunts County Triumph Cyclone
Black Cat Custom
Laver T20
Helios Atlas
Newbery Mjolnir 5 star
Vantage LE (SCat 3)
Vantage LE (SCat 1)
Laver SR (Bradman tweaked)
Laver PB (Hosking SCat)
Talisman Perfect Storm

Worrying... :-[ I'm sure I have missed a few out, and these are ones for myself that I actually used for a net/match, not including my brothers' ones or ones I sold on without using... :(

I have to say, out of these ones, the shapes I liked most were the Hunts County Steelback, the Genesis bats (Whirlwind was nicer than Tornado), the Beast and the Phoenixes. Might actually want to get a Genesis replicated, although I think that out of the 5 I knew of, 4 or 5 of them broke haha! :-[

GM Striker (Size 4) - not sure what happened to it.
DF Attack (Size 5) - snapped and I assume burnt!

Gave up cricket aged 15 and started again at 21....

GM GMax - refurbed and gave to a team mate
GN Phoenix Powerblade 2lb10oz - still have it
CA 20/20 2lb8oz - donated to team kit bag and is still going strong, albeit patched up.
GM Cannon 909 2lb12oz - still have it, awful bat.
GN Powerbow Titanium 2lb12oz - nice bat, sold to a team mate.
Redback Allegiance Premier 2lb15oz - still have it and still use it, awesome bat
SS Yuvi 20/20 KW 3lb - still have it, net bat, awful
Adidas Pellara Club 2lb9oz - still have it, bought on a whim and used in the nets twice
2xH4L Part mades - still have, and still use
DF Magnum Polyflex (used) 2lb12oz - still have
GN Powerspot 3* (used) 2lb7oz - still have

Not the most inspiring bat history when written down....might have to treat myself to something nice in the new year!

Up untill a few years ago I was happy just picking something off the shelf that felt good - didn't even need to give it a malet test. How times have changed

First up, the bats that I actually kept:

Gray Nicolls Millenium (Kashmir Bat)
Puma Millichamp (Club kit bat, scored my first 50 in Under 11's with it)
GN Extreme (First English willow bat)
Slazenger V900 Master Blaster (One of the best bats I've had, loved that beauty)
Kookaburra Ice Sub 30 (Still got it and in really good nick)
Gray Nicolls Predator Maxx Limited Edition (3 years in and still got something left in it, mainly there as a spare now)
Helios The Atlas Reserve (Current bat and playing really well)

Bats that I have gotten but then sold:

Screaming Cat Custom (In my excitement I got it too heavy)
GN Players
SS Gladiator
H4L 5*
L&W Special Reserve (On discount)
L&W Private Bin + Ultra
Blenheim The Cambridge
Talisman Perfect Storm
BAS Pride
Helios The Atlas # 2 (heavier than my current one)
