Doesn't mean I trust you! Not getting into an argument as it would just be petty!

OK OK, my argument I think is being diluted here. All I'm saying is that it would take a lot longer than 50 posts for me to build up enough of a picture of a member enough to do business with them and perhaps you're all right, you're definitely a valued member of the forum PC1982, so maybe I'm being a bit strong. But as I've said already its my money and how I spend it, is my business!

I agree with Dave.

Perhaps post count is a bit strong, but it takes a long time to build up some semblance of familiarity with some-one over the internet, and I reckon thats about 1800+ posts.

I agree with Procricket too.

Judging by post count may work as a rule of thumb, but how many posts did Brimble or Watsontotty have before they went south with members' readies?

I'm with you Nick. There are a lot of dodgy people about, 50 posts isn't really enough for me to feel comfortable that I know where someone is coming from or the sort of person they are. As this forum offers very little in the way of protection then however anyone chooses to protect themselves shouldn't be questioned. Seems some are a little offended by this notion and I find that very hard to understand! Look after yourselves because no one else will!

1800??? That's a shame. I can tell you it takes me reading just a handful of posts from a member to know the type of person they are.
Now there's a statement looking for a problem. I'm very pleased for you that it takes you so little time to determine character, however, I sincerely hope you aren't being naïve.

The forum offers no protection really, although we do our best to keep it relatively safe, people don't realise this. It has taken a number of unfortunate events to make that much more clear. Even ebay offers very little protection if someone is truly after your money or goods, unfortunately.

I can't really tell what anyone is like over the net, all I will do though is treat anyone as a friend until you prove otherwise. Oh and I won't buy anything expensive off non retailers tbh. If I do buy something I'm prepared to lose it as it's a risk.

As the forum grows your always going to get certain elements nobody is doubting that.
I guess it  what people don't say other than what they do say.
Protect yourself and of course it all personal preference I buy normally from mates only too but I do not rule out a sale from anybody who is eligible to sell but I do read all there posts if I do not know them

Question is right it your money do as you will I,am more on about sniffing them out

Trust me you are in for a big surprise, you have missed the fun days. I might not agree with the number of post that Nick mentioned but i do agree with his sentiment.... you have to watch for who you deal with very carefully...there`s been some real interstings things is past...
