Would echo that gdb19 its buyer beware on here same as anywhere else and you do need to be careful who you buy from on here.generally its good thou i personally think its a shame some sell on here just to avoid ebay fees.personally i buy and sell some bits on ebay rather than here.
There is an advantage in cbf thou some very good batmakers and retailers are on here and that helps them deal direct and sometimes does get us club cricketers a better bat than we would normally-and that can only be good

I totally agree mate.
I have only bought from retailers on here for a while now. Much less of a headache. After all this Shaq business the worry when posting something would be too much for frail old me...

I think if you look back through a members posts, you can generally get a feel for the type of character. There are certainly people on here who I would know I could buy from (normally those with 2000+ posts), who have built up a bit of a reputation. I would probably be a bit wary of buying from some-one with less than 750, and would definitely not buy from a member who had raced to 50. Buyer beware for sure!

For what it's worth here is my opinion.
I think banning someone for not posting regularly is a little unfair. Not all of us have a lot to say, sometimes we prefer to just read and take things in. Thanks to the forum I've picked up some great kit, a lot of it at a third of the regular price. Cricket has always fascinated me but since joining the forum I've developed a new found passion for learning about the art that is bat making and the research that goes with it. I would be reluctant to buy off anybody if I'm honest unless I knew exactly what I was getting in terms of service. I personally feel that 50 posts is a real minute amount of posts.

So we scrutinise less the less we pay?

Nope

I read quality of posts not number

I had thousands of posts half of them crap but I hope the other half show people iam honest and trustworthy and have a little idea about kit

For instance you have a bat you have used and used so that says to me something
You out of you 18 posts have talked other than little dittys about nothing
I do not look at post counts I just spend long enough o here to realise a scammer from a non scammer and if I need to blow my trumpet I'am normally not wrong
New or old poster I like to to everybody's welcome thy are with me there some good people on here

I agree with Dave.

And no manno, I wouldn't buy from you, and its nothing personal, I just wouldn't buy on here from people who I don't know. And with only 18 posts, I haven't had a chance to realise what you're about. Perhaps post count is a bit strong, but it takes a long time to build up some semblance of familiarity with some-one over the internet, and I reckon thats about 1800+ posts.

At the end of the day, if you're trustworthy and a good bloke, you'll stick around and make yourself a valued member of the forum.

1800??? That's a shame. I can tell you it takes me reading just a handful of posts from a member to know the type of person they are.

Maybe 1000. Easy to blag 30-40 posts mate to lul every-one into a false sense of security! Besides, as its my money, I'll decide how to spend it and who to spend it on! If you're any different then that's perfectly OK by me!

I tend to to try to not sell to people that have less than a number or quality of posts either - just one of those things.

What a cunning ruse that would be!
