Does anyone else colour co-ordinate their gear?
« on: January 08, 2013, 01:26:37 AM »

topic. I try to, but I won't if it means I'm buying inferior gear.

Right now, I'm getting a black helmet, which will go with the restickered Puma Platinum, the A61 gloves, and maybe a pair of A61 pads. Red and black!!!!!!!

What about you guys?

Hey mate, when i got my first kit it was definitely a priority... What im doing now though with any new kit is concentrating on gear that simply feels good to use. I tell ya its a huge relief to forget about fashion and finally concentrate on cricket!!! That doesnt however mean ill be found wearing ANY puma or aero gear......

Likewise for me. The less colour the better. I bought GN gloves without the chequering on the sweatband, and I even removed the stickers from one bat and stuck a white grip on. I don't know why, but it just looks cleaner and simpler, and I like that. The only thing with colour is my helmet in the dominant club colour, navy.

I definitely am, I'm extremely fussed over my semblance.

I truly detest spray painting the pads so I look to buy coloured leather ones which are scarce.

I expect that more people co-ordinate brand than colour as most club cricketers keep softs longer than bats, although as long as my stuff fits i don't care about colour!

I have to say I am defiantly a believer in less is more with colour on my kit, I just think the less colour there is the classier and the better it looked. That's why I've gone for the GN legend range, the feilding pads to keep I and have even taken the stickers off my Willostix slugger

I started last season with my kit fully Co-ordinated all from Shark, which was nice but I couldn't get on with the gloves.  I've now purchased some M&H pads and gloves which I'll be using next season. I like more traditional style kit so try and keep to that rather than some of the more modern kit.

i dont try to however subconsciously all of my kit ended up having red on it, old slazenger pads and bat, gn predator 4 star gloves, old kook spikes, and now adidas incurza pro which is orangey red, this all ended with the bright green puma spikes!

I try and categorize them as little 'collections'. Like I have M&H pads, a soon to arrive Laver bat and I hope to buy some Milichamp gloves to match the classy, traditional theme. White, beige and dark green!

I personally try to co-ordinate my softs and bat. Apart from that, the rest I'm not bothered about.
