A couple of years ago I abandoned 'sunny' Glasgow to creep northwards to one of the few places in the world with darker winters, Norway.
Before moving I had pretty much resigned myself to becoming an armchair cricketer, however a few days after arriving i was delighted to find out that not only did cricket exist here, but that there were more than 40 teams in Oslo alone. Anyway, 2 years later I'm not skipper of a side that's just been promoted to the top division, and in order to stay there I've been trying to make sure we have a decent pre-season.
I'd like to say I'm pretty decent at organising the indoor nets and fielding practice, but when it comes to coaching adults I'm pretty hopeless(at the moment), and it doesn't help that we have everything from former county 2nd XI players, to absolute beginners. Run up's and follow throughs are the main area where things look wrong in a few of them, but even after spotting that I don't really know the best way to go about making improvements, especially with seamers.
So...for this season I decided the best way to do it was to video peoples batting and bowling, and then get feedback from some of the coaches at my old club, but having read some of the coaching topics on here recently there are obviously some talented coaches post on here so I thought I'd garner a few more opinions, if people have the time to view and offer them. Sadly i don't feature this time, but I'll try and squeeze a few of my off-darts in there over the next few weeks.
So I present to you, the Oslo Aliens (and current Norwegian Division 1 champions) first indoor session of 2013.
All help and guidance very much appreciated in this cricketing outpost.
