Redback bats
« on: January 13, 2013, 06:47:30 PM »

Hi all,

Brand new to the forum and looking for a little advice from people who seem to know their stuff.
I am looking to buy a new bat for the season and am interested in the redback paradox as it seems to fit my style of play.
Does anyone have an experience of using one that they could share? Or an opinion of Redback gear in general.

Thank you

I have been using a Redback for 4 seasons now and all their softs.

Bat keeps going and going. Great rebound, Softs are very nice, I have the traditional set.

Yes used one they are mainly straight blade, not bowed.gary there is great but very busy so doesnt answer emails regularly-hes just got too much on.
Check pro direct cricket there are good discounts now but make sure the actual bat is in stock(phone them and speak to someone)
If its not in stock its a nightmare getting it

Traditional gloves look really nice. Love the brown wristband on them.

Welcome to the forum. You won't go far wrong with Redback. I've had a bat and batting pads that I've used since 2012, both are very nice.
As RDP says the only hitch is Gary's sporadic replies but once you get hold of him it is generally worth the wait

I've just sent off 4 bats to Gary to refurb so he's probably even busier... :-[

I rang the number on the website and they gave me a replacement number which I was called back on after about 2 days, Very accommodating.

The paradox is a lovely shape as is the allegiance. Top bats all round

I've got a paradox and its great, really nice bat - picks up very well even though its 3 lb. There's more info here:

As others have said about the only slight negative is the wait for replies but if you bear with Gary he's a good bloke and he'll sort you out with a good bat. If any of that puts you off there are loads of other brands on here that would do you a good bat too, H4L tempo seems popular at the moment and thats what I'll probably go for next.

Probably the best bat I've ever used....apart from my current Iconic ;)

Gary is a top bloke and his gear is first class!!

Thanks all,

Going to give one a go but start with a lower grade bat as never bought on line before.

For an extra ton I can see your concern monetary wise but I cannot see Gary letting you down on quality on either end of the spectrum. If that should happen you can always return the bat for a replacement.

Mine is only a premium so is one of the lower grade models. I'm sure the bat would look nicer if you went for a higher grade but I honestly don't know if Gary grades his bats on looks or performance. might be worty asking as you might get a bat that will perform as well but just not look as good if you went for a lower grade if you're worried about the cash.
