Stripping Off Stickers
« on: January 15, 2013, 01:22:17 PM »

Does anyone have any tips for taking stickers off a bat?

Recently received one of the clearance bats from Vantage (actually a CA made bat), and it has the old (red) Lithium stickers on it. I'm not a fan of these, and will probably take them off. However, I don't want to damage the bat at all. They look like they should come off OK, but I thought I'd try and get some tips/advice before I attempt.

Thanks

pull across the grain rather than down it so you reduce tear out. once the stickers are off use a stanley blade at 90 degrees to the bat to scrape off the excess glue. couple of grades of sandpaper and your done.

And don't forget the hairdryer to warm up and loosen the glue to make sticker removal a whole lot easier.

Also use white spirit to remove the residue glue if you don't fancy the stanley knife.

Hairdryer or wallpaper stripper to supply a bit of heat.  Just be very careful with it.
I would go with the white spirit/plastic card method of glue removal.  Causes much less damage.

We've had this question many times. I've added a sticky in the batcare section to cover it. Please add your tips to that. I'll now lock this one.
