With a few other threads, such as Slowest ever batting, thought I'd start this one off

Basically your worst ever performance on the cricket pitch, or most disappointing performance
See how everyones compare with each other

I'll kick it off with mine, still haunts me to this day

Having just left my first club, where I grew up, and enjoyed lots of success, to go play at a higher standard at a new club and league
My new club, drew my old club in the Keighley cup, a regional 20/20 competition, teams from the various leagues in the area are free to enter
The game was away, I regularly still go to the old club drinking with old team mates most weekends
We bowled first, with a mixture of 1st, 2nd and 3rd team players making up our team, against a mixture of their 1's and 2's, who arent really very good. I didnt keep, gave the 2nd team keeper the gloves instead so I could field and possibly have a bowl if required.
they lost wickets throughout, were on around 100-6 after 18 overs.
captain throws me the ball for the 19th over, bowling to a gobby 2nd teamer, who's mainly a footballer, but can bowl a bit in the 2nds, he kindly smacks me back over my head 3 times, once for a 4, the other 2 went for massive 6's onto the clubhouse roof, and the spectators went wild and gave me plenty of stick. my one over went for 22 in total
then the last ball of the innings i drop a catch on sqaure leg boundary that then goes for 4 mcuh to the crowds amusement
they finish on about 130
we got off to a flyer and our aussie smashes it allover, then gets out but we were still in a very comfortable postition and should walk it from here, i go in at about 70-1, promoted to 3. manage to pinch a single to nervously get off the mark. then 3 balls into an over from my Best mate, slice a chance to deep gully, and the village/club idiot takes a blinding catch, i get a proper royal send off. we then collapse and lose the game by about 10 runs, and I'm left wishing the ground would swallow me up.
they still remind me of that game to this day, and i still have nightmares

good story!
In my last year at school we went on cricket tour to Australia. We had been looking forward to it for a few years. Our first game was at the Don Bradman oval. We were chasing 200 off 50 overs. I opened up and was bowled very first ball of our innings. It was a straight medium paced ball. Even now i don't even know what shot i played! We lost the game.
I often have nightmares about that day.

with the county squad on tour, we hadn't had much sleep for the past week as we were staying in rooms of 6+ ,to start of the day i was dropped down to 6 and wickets fell quickly by the 20th over i was in, next thing i know first ball trying to play a forward defense and i play the ball straight back to the bowler for a easy catch. Although it was not the best feeling by lunch i had got over it and being a good fielder was looking forward to making up for my poor score. I was put at first slip and with a spinner opening the bowling in the second over i got a simple chance only for me to basically catch it,before dropping it! To make matters worse i got moved to third man the next over! It was a dull game and at around the 30 overs mark our opening bowler bowls a loose bouncer and the batsman(on 49*) gets a top edge and the ball comes flying towards me, it wasn't the easiest of catches but i would hope to catch it say 3 times out of 5 but no it lands right on my finger and goes for 4! I got the mick taken out off me that night! As if the day couldn't get any worse i had a allergic reaction to deep heat after the game and looked like a human tomato! 2 days later it was time to leave the tour and go home, my finger was still dark blue so we took a trip to the local hospital to find out it was broken and couldnt play for 6 weeks! That game really couldn't have been any worse.

Wandered in to bat on a Saturday 1st team game. Decided to just take it easy and ease myself in to the innings as I needed to bat for 35 overs at least... So opening bowler runs in, bowls a nice quick (I mean medium) ball.... I decide that it's outside off stump and I'll do a nice leave....... kaplunk. off stump gone... Ahhh, ooopppsss.

Wander off with a golden duck under my belt having left my first ball.... Ooppppss.. Long day that day!

Here is my sob story!!

In 2010 we went to Montreal to play Quebec (which were ranked pretty high in Canadian rankings back then) and since we did not have the money to fly we decided that maybe driving is the better option.

So we left Thursday night at around 9 PM, got to Montreal at 12 noon I drove non stop with some coffee breaks while others slept (3 cars but passengers in the other cars shared the driving duty) anyways we get and everyone wanted a big meal so we drove around in circles for 3 hrs because captain kept insisting that we use his GPS to get to a particular restraunt, which we found out was programmed incorrectly 

After the meal we got to a hotel around 6-7 PM Friday, i got woken up 2/3 hrs later as the boys wanted to go out and party and I was the only one who knew the city somewhat, they did not want to use the GPS again, which made me angry and proud at the same time...

So 2 T-20 matches first thing on Saturday after getting back around 2 to the hotel night before...I am not given the new ball, still decent enough showing we lost both matches...I am now physically sick at this point (I dont do well we Air conditioning on for long basically had 24 hrs of A/C in the car)...next day (Sunday) we have a 50 over game where again i am not given the new ball despite every begging the captain to let me open... i am brought on in 15/16th over get their well set guy to hit one dolly in air to cover that gets dropped... anyways he got dropped off my bowling 4 times at 70 (my first over), 110, 150 and 200 (yes 200)...he basically walked up to me at that point shook my hand and walked off the field saying both him and I had done enough for the day....they scored 350 runs in 50 overs,,,we did not even get to 150 ...our captain had 1 slip in from over 1 to 49 

anways get back to the hotel Sunday night, plan was to rest for the night and most of monday, then leave but everyone was so demoralised that at sunday night supper we decided to leave right then...i declined to drive as i was in no condition to and did not feel like risking others lives...captain decided to drive and woke me up after 2 hrs of driving saying he could not anymore...everyone else is dead to the world so we stop for coffee i must have drank 4-5 large coffees in 15 mins than drove back all the way...

I did not play for a month after that, was truly disgusted at the our lack of performance and hard headedness of the captain...worst tour of my life...physically and mentally

Got dropped mid-week
Woke up Saturday to find i'd got a parking ticket
Tried to start car - I'd left the lights on all night so battery flat
Couldn't jump start it so called a team-mate for a lift
Spent ages in traffic due to major event in the city that day and arrived very late
Expected to bat first drop as I had been demoted - eventually got in at 6 or 7 or 8 or something
Slapped ball one straight to square leg and secured my membership of the primary club

Finals of dutch top league. I was 14 at the time. We were so certain we would win the game, walked on the field so positive all the club turned up to come and watch us. This year would be our year, the year we at last became champions, at last broke the fluke of being in the final but not actually winning and at last have the massive club party and have good times. But no, It all started wrong, my bowling wasn't only disappointing so was my fielding which showed later on in the game. Being rather pissed of after dropping another catch i got put on square leg. 3 overs later i wish they never put me there, the bats woman swept the ball straight at me on the first bounce it made a unexpected movement and hit me right in the face, just underneath my nose. I woke up on the field a few minutes later all my team mates around me and all i asked was are my teeth oke and went atleast i stopped the ball. All i heard was my mother shouting from the boundary and thinking i'm fine if my teeth are still in. At last got of the field massive cut in my lip and smashed up nose and blood everywhere (looks good on whites) i was just watching the game, no hospital needed but it felt like the game took for ever. Thank god one of my teammates her brother was a doc and told me to take these painkillers and try to relax. I told him i wasn't leaving the club till after the game.

The first innings ended we had a crap bowlings innings but oke. Our batting innings wasn't a lot better. Me still sitting at the side but with my team now and on loads of painkillers and still coverd in blood. Our 5th wicket fell and our captain turned around asking me to bat on number 11 and of course i said like a idiot YES!
Fully dressed in all my gear but at that point was dizzy and really didn't have any idea i had to go in on number 11. At this point we knew we lost the final but where gonna leave the field with a bang. As far as i can remember i had 3 balls 0 runs and went out bowled.

Lost the final, nearly lost my teeth, lost my brain i think somewhere along the day and lost a lot of pride.
But still play and still love it. So it might hurt and sting and wont ever forget it but it wont break me!

Utrecht is a super club, I played there a few years ago.

I have just realised it was close to 20 years ago. I now feel really old. (19 to be precised, I was 16 at the time)

yeaa that before i was born so wouldnt know how it was back then but now it's awesome!!
