Ok, so I've decided to enjoy my new Tempo commando style and am not using the helicopter sheet Matt sent.

Question is this.
Do I cut a think sliver of the sheet for the edges or should I use 'bat tape' instead.

Part of me would prefer the clear sheet on just the edges as the grains are nothing short of pornographic now they have had a touch of Salix bat wax.

Normally I use my bats with just some edge tape but with the H4L I have it seems to go so well iv stuck a scuff sheet on to hopefully extend its life.

Given the two options you listed think I would go for a strip of scuff sheet.

I'd personally use a scuff sheet, if it's going to extend the life of your pride and joy it's worth the sacrifice surely? I think a sliver of scuff sheet would look silly personally though

Longevity is a very low priority.
I get such a kick out of choosing a new bat if this one last 1 season I won't shed a tear.

It's all about performance.

If the sheet is the same as bat tape then I shall go with the sheet.

Is the sheet (cut to a sliver for just the edges) the same/more/less effective than bat tape?

I've bought many bats and no matter how many I buy, if I really like a bat and I do well with it, I won't change it until it's gone. So I'd want it to last as long as possible. So whether I buy a bat every season or not I'd still want that stick that I've loved to stick with me and protect it as much as possible

Kierons scuff sheets are apparently performance enhancing... I think youre making a mistake here, i would regret the decision massively if i didnt scuff it and it broke!

2 questions.
1) Can you provide a link to Keirons scuff sheets. Are they the helicopter ones?
2) I've had a bunch of Warsops, never scuffed them. They all crack on the surface, sign of a good bat, but never break.
I'm interested in the statement about scuff sheets preventing bats from breaking. Do they?

I never said that they will prevent your bat from breaking, but surely if they help prolong the life of a bat ten it's worth having one? That's my view anyway

I've never had a worry about a bat only lasting a short time and I've never had a problem getting a new one which exceeded my expectations.

That's not what I'm getting at, surely you've had a bat that you really wished didn't get so battered and the face fall apart? That maybe the scuff sheet would have held that together that little bit longer?

I suppose if your in the situation where you can buy bats willy nilly then thats not a problem for you
