Grips
« on: January 22, 2013, 12:33:34 PM »

All,

I have several grips on my bats and they seem to ride up no matter how much tape I put on. Any ideas to stop it?

Thanks

I presume they ride up from the bottom, Which I guess means you're using holding it very tightly with that bottom hand,

But I am sure someone with more experience can shed some light.

What type of grips are they and do you use more than 1 grip in your set up?

One of the guys at my club has a similar issue when he used a 1 and 1/2 grip set up.

GM Controls. Don't think I hold it too tight but it's something to think about!

I've seen people put a little bit of glue under the bottom of the grip to keep it in place.

I've done that before, works a treat - I would recommend using PVA glue so that your grip doesn't rip off if you try and remove the grip at some point.

Glue seems a great idea, might try a little next time I apply grips.

Could be a thin handle.

You could try applying some tape upside down, so the sticky side is facing up - i've done this a few times with grips that are old and a bit lose and it works, but you need to make sure its in the right place before you roll the grip back down because its hard to get it off after with out damaging the grip.

I put a bit of hockey stick tape over the twine and that works a treat to stop the grips riding
