Indoor/astro shoes
« on: January 26, 2013, 03:54:10 PM »

Starting our indoor nets this week and just found out we are in a sports hall, instead of our usual place where we can wear spikes with soft cleats.

Anyone got any recomendations for rubber sole cricket shoes or trainers for around £30-£40?

Was looking at tennis shoes, but ideally would also want to use them during the season for playing on astro and not sure if they would have enough grip.

Any help appreciated..

I'd be tempted to use white astro turf football shoes.

Those Asics look tidy.

I just use a running shoe to be honest, never really been fussed about it, and they grip on astro turf

I wear squash shoes on a wooden surface as they grip well.

Cheers for the advice - gone for some asics running shoes that should do the job.

The Asics Trigger 5's are pretty good, with quite a bit of cushioning and grip

Have always wondered if you could wear spikes indoors with either the plastic cleats or spikes removed?

I've worn them at the Oval and Lord's as they have reasonable non slip flooring. Don't find they work well on sports hall floors though.

We were netting at Chester le street last year and though I might be able to get away with wearing them, I usually just wear running shoes as I wear the ones with extra arch support to stop shin splints but I hate batting in flimsy running trainers!
