For owners of a SH 2.8 Shadow.
« on: January 27, 2013, 07:45:51 AM »

Hi guys,

I'm considering buying a bat soon, and one of the bats I'm considering is the Black Cat Shadow with a weight of 2.8.

If anyone here owns a 2.8 Shadow, could they kindly please take out the measuring tape and list the following specs?

Edge width (at its thickest)
Spine height (at its highest)
Edge width (at the shoulder)
Edge width (at the toe)
Location of sweet spot (from toe)

And if it's not too much bother, could they please list the numbers in metric.

A very big thank you in advance to anyone who is able to help me out here.

Thanks

No, I don't know his username. Is it just "Black Cat Cricket"?

Didn't you just ask the same questions about the H4L?

the thing is that no two bats are the same, this is because every cleft is different.

if you are looking for a big overdrived lump, you should say so.

the reality is that for 2lbs 8 oz bat you won't get a giant.

my suggestion is that you decide what shape you want and what, what your stickers you want, understand what your budget is then give this information to the sponsor and see if they can help you.

Think about having some sympathy for the sponsors, asking for all this information is a little nuts in my view.

having 35mm edges or 38mm edges won't make a difference to you. what will help you is getting a bat in the shape that will help you the most.
I agree that you should know where the middle position is on the bat.

I did. I've got it down to:

The H4L range
Black Cat Shadow
GM Octane F2 DXM Original LE
GM Zona F2 DXM Original
Gray Nicolls A61 1000LE

I've currently got a custom made bat from Pakistan (MD Sports), that my dad got for me. That was supposedly in the 2.7 to 2.9 range, I'm guessing 2.7, considering that my dad asked for a lighter bat.

I'd like a 2.8 bat that picks up nice and light, with a middle that is a little bit higher than my current bat. (225mm from the toe)

I'd get a Fat Bat, but they start at 2.12. The Black Cat Shadow looks nice, so does the H4L Hellfire and Hattori. I like the Tempo, but the full sized bats start at 2.10. If I got a Harrow, surely it would be lighter?
