Handles, are you selective?
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:14:47 AM »

As the title says, are you picky over your bat handle, its shape, thickness et cetra? Or you can pick any and use it in middle?

Discuss.

I don't like a full round handle - other then that I'm happy - not bothered about the thickness. Can't say that I've tried much of the technology in handles, so I cannot comment on that - however I have a feeling I wouldn't like it.

I like short thick handles as the bat seems to pick up better for me also quite like my laver carbon handle for power transfer

As most who have seen my bats know I have a certain grip set up and will spend 10 mins choosing cleft 1hr getting handle right so a bit selective

I like a thick handle however I've recently been using a thin oval handle and I'm getting in with it!

I am not too fussed about round or oval handles. My SG has round and thin handle while my Salix and Hattori have oval handles. However with oval handles I like to have half grip on the bottom.

I don't like my handles to be too thin. I find I get wrist cramps if they are, and will add grips. I also like a slightly square oval bottom hand, which is great to have made up for you when visiting a batmaker.

Pentagonal shaped bottom hand is the way forward.  Sits really nicely in the bottom hand and doesn't rotate when you hit the ball off centre.  Very comfy and gives good value for shot!

I find it the exact opposite Tim. Even though I've got fairly large hands I get on much better with a single grip.

I don't mind if they're oval or round, but have to have decent grip setup. I usually have a half moon then a spiral/ 1/2 chevron 1/2 spiral. Makes a difference if they're decent quality as well, feels a lot nicer in the hands.

Quite fussy with my handles - preferred handle is half round / half oval. Have bought nearly all my previous bats 2nd hand so don't really have much choice in it.

Currently ive got one bat which is round, and I had to make the bottom oval using rubber strips and got one oval handle bat where I had to make the top half round, again using strips.

Grip set up has always been 1 & 1/2 grips. Tried numerous grips, but now always use a shock absorba on top.

I prefer thin handles with single grip and oval bottom

ditto, that said I like the bottom of the handle to be quite a thick oval. I end up playing with insulting tape to thicken up the bottom hand.
