Best and worst cricket teas....

We all do it... Look forward to playing away somewhere that has memorable cricket teas.
But who has the best and why?
Also who has the worst and why? Be interesting if some of us think the same, or you think another forum members club fits either of these

We played a game where the opposition's skipper was an owner of a Domnios franchise so the tea was just a load of Domnios pizza. We didn't move to well in the field after that.

We play a team on a Sunday in London, name is something to do with Ford cos it was a Ford factory team or something.
Their teas include a couple of bags of crisps, enough sandwiches for about 12 people whove just eaten a roast dinner, and a chocolate roll or 2.
Legendary among my team

This is something that I am very serious and passionate about.
Nothing worse than slogging around in the field on a 35 degree day and coming off at tea to find 10 sandwiches and some warm watermelon/oranges.

Best I had was sleaford. Sandwiches, pork pie, sausage roll, hot onion barges, samosas and spring rolls, cocktail sausages, quiche, pizza crisps chips, cakes bought and home made. Enough to feed a nation of cricketers.
Only thing missing was chicken dippers and pink wafers, our team goes nuts for pink wafers.

My fav so far: icecream with topping, pilelets with whipped cream and strawberries, hot dogs, chocolate cake, lemon cake, muffins, roast chicken and avacodo sandwiches. Bunch of other stuff aswell.
Unfortunately i wasn't able to pig out, was in the middle of a grueling innings

The best ones I've had have all been village clubs who do it the old fashioned way - Bledlow, Duncombe Park, WGP. Worst, there are many in the Home Counties - Maidenhead & Bray's were a disgrace a few years back, and the "big" clubs like BA and Slough tend to produce pretty average offerings (ie nothing you'd want to eat)

We had 22 prepack sandwiches from the local tesco express and a 12 pack multipack of crisps once which was pretty shocking! That guy will never be allowed to forget it

My old club used to put on a great spread! They got a bit of a reputation for amazing lunches, he's a picture of a few of them. If you ever get a chance to play for Alveley CC in the worcs league, then do it - just for the lunches and bathams on the bar.

If anyone is in the Dorset leagues and has to play Poole, at Poole Park, Fear not as Subway is just across the road!
The teas there are dreadful, The players know they are awful!
If you play their 4ths though, you are in for a treat! One of their players is a baker!

Hope I don't get slapped down for this, but if you are south-london based and do have trouble sorting that essential centrepiece of any cricket tea - the cake - these girls are worth contacting. I highly recommend the Red Velvet. They would probably be able to do an entire tea as well, but I can only vouch for the cakes - as can my waisteline.

No doubt - just not sure how many clubs can afford to buy in teas that way!!!

I know - I just posted it in case a team found themselves in a bit of a pickle (did you see what I did there?) and needed to 'buy one in' in an emergency.
