As an emotional, passionate and Australian cricket team supporter (and player) for the best part of 20 years (a proud one too) I, like many others am frustrated on many levels at present.  The next 12 months is the biggest 12 months of cricket for the Australian cricket team in a long, long time.  If we do nothing now, we will be where we were 30 years ago.  There needs to be urgent action and a new strategy / plan put in place......

He makes some good, well thought-through points, along with some obvious ones too.

I love his choices for selectors, that would be great.

But is all this realistic? To change all these positions would require a huge overhaul of Cricket Australia and its staff, something I can't see happening.

He's right that aussie cricket needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. I'd argue that English cricket isn't actually doing that well now either, we are on the slide. Where is the next generation of top top class players coming through? (not just 'good' ones but genuine world class players.

What has-beens have the selectors been choosing lately? These guys need to perform consistently across all three formats of the game to be warranted a selection in the ODI's and test matches.

Perhaps.  Australia also have to lose their collective ego - it was interesting during the Big Bash the way the commentators and players referred to it - Mark Taylor, for example, calling it "the premier competition in world cricket".  Really?  I'd have said that the standard was lower than, say, finals day in England, with a poor selection of overseas players and 20 of what little resources they seem to have at the moment away with the national squad...

C'mon mate, you can't take that seriously. They have to talk up the Big Bash because it's their job and ratings on the line.

But the management is the biggest problem. Favourtism still occurs depending on the state you play for i.e. NSW

Just take Khawaja as a example over the past few months, in and around the test squad, doesn't get a game. Then in the ODI's, plays 1 match before being dropped.
