Handles on bats now come in different shapes for the bottom hand! i.e. oval, round, etc etc
This shape is there for comfort and also reported as an aid to reduce twisting or make you less bottom handy. That is, the correct method is to hold it is with fingers and thumb, so the top hand takes control. [I think i got the right!]
What I am trying to ascertain is, is it more effective to have these shapes on youngsters bats [bottom hand] as the old player will be more set in there ways and therefore need more time to change and or effect there bat style they have developed.
A good example is my son he's bottom hand dominant, I packed his handle to make it so that he can hold it as above... finger, thumb... He's 9 though so just starting out so i thought it is worth him learning properly, I think it is more beneficial for him then someone older that has batted for years in a particular way to make that change. If it doesnt work I'm not concerned also as it is packed he can back to the normal shape.
As for twist, I think I am saying it doesn't make a difference!!!!!
