Yeah there have been a few surprises so far, but Waresley having any sort of bowling attack is a big one!

We drew against Camden who know their way around this league, they won it a few years back. Fox ton away next week, they walked it last year but have had a ropey start this time!

Waresley had a decent opener, Hayden, who swung it in a lot  and a wily old left arm spinner who knew his strengths. Our wicket keeper, who got a 100 last week, got a ropey LBW against the spinner.

We have Goddy which should be interesting with a few old boys

It's not easy starting a season on a bank holiday weekend. We look like we will have a few youngsters in our 2nd XI for the 1st match.

Opposite problem for us, too many players available and facing the hard task of choosing who won't get a game this week

Its been tough for the friendlies, thats for sure.  We were getting four sides out this time last year and scratched around for three this time last week - a combination of local sides still having some meaningful football to play (Chelski, Brentford, Palace, Fulham) and a few eople not wanting to start in the cold, I suspect.

People didn't want to play intra club warm up games so we had to cancel that one. Could be interesting trying to put 6 sides out when the leagues start

I played in our first game last Saturday for our 3rds. There was 5 adults and 6 kids around 14 years old. A part from our Captain the kids out played the rest of us.  I really enjoyed playing with them. Even better when we managed to win

So far had a couple of 2 fers bowling (yesterday was my 1st XI debut against a side in Southern Electric Premier league so was pleased with that).
Made scores of 8, 5, 2* and 10 (average of 8.33) so far, hopefully I find some form with the bat to go with my bowling soon!

That was against Havant, they finished 3rd in gold last year and their 3rds are in Bronze so have a strong side
