So today was my first league game for my new club and it wasn't the easiest of conditions to play. There was a really blustery cross wind that made bowling tough but amongst the multitude of wides there was the odd ball that was reminiscent of Waqar Younis. We got 175-5 and skittled them for 80. Unfortunately I got one of those 'unplayable magic balls' early on for a duck but bowled ok and took 2-10. Think we might have a shout for promotion this year if we play well.

first game ....

opened up on a damp track, was going well on 20 but got caught out in 4th over cutting the ball ... absolutely nailed it to point at ankle height and the little beggar caught it!!

Need to get in the nets to get back to getting over the ball and hitting it along the ground.

3 victims behind the stumps but we got humped with 16 overs left!

First game of the season today. Not bad considering we had a hail storm this morning!

We bowled first & they hot 191/4

We made 194/6 (ish) in the second last over.  I got 15 before being bowled. I played theshot iI should have to theball before - except the ball that got me was better!

Had a good game all told!

62* for me today opening the batting. I lost wickets all around me. Lost by 4 wickets in the end.

202 for 9 for us, 33 for me off about 11 balls then played a daft shot when I should have gone on and cashed in during the last 5 overs. Bowled them out for 38, I due to have a bowl but wasn't needed. They batted like they were on a suicide mission, our spinner got 7 wickets including a hat trick to win the game, 2 bad run outs and at one stage I think they were 8 for 4.

We turned up today with 8 players. Fielded first (which is f*****g hard work with 8 people) and they scored 237 all out. Opened the batting, scored 26. Should have gone on to get a big score after getting in. Ran out our captain too...oops. They got us out for 161.
Lets move on to next week eh!

First league game of the season we hot 234, i opened and got a nice 60 before chipping the off spiner to mid on. Bowled them out for 136. There were 3 of the best catches i have seen in 15 years of cricket today from our team absolute stunning catches all of them.

The standard of fielding all round today from both sides was top notch a great show of what premier league cricket is all about. All round great game of cricket

Well my first game of cricket in nearly 20 years tomorrow, really looking forward to it almost like a kid at christmas. A few wickets and a couple of runs would be nice. Will report back tomorrow with how bad i played.

Forgot to add, I took 2-21 from 9 and hit 15 not out, including 3 fours in a row to win the game!

Got beat by Tom's lot today by 5 wickets. Massively disappointed as my team seemed to have given up when we were still in it. I managed a not very pretty/quite lucky 77 before being caught and got one catch myself. Wonder if Tom can feel his leg now?

horrendous game. 168/0 chasing 240 and lost by 29. panic doesn't come close!

I'm In pieces mate, got cramp marking my guard before facing a ball! Hamstring through to calf then in both legs...lesson learnt don't play after 20 hours travelling and 12.5 hour flight.

Was hoping to just turn up and not have to do too mic which didn't quote work out as planned

Put opposition in to bat -they posted 264 after a long 46 overs. We ended up about 190-4 and picked up a few points out with an encouraging team performance after our heads had dropped.

Did tell the oppo skipper they had scored too many - if they had set 220 it could gave been a different game for us
