010 Compression Shorts
« on: February 05, 2013, 01:53:46 AM »

So after coming across these on CF(Formerly CI) as well as seeing a mention of these in CBF's AOC section I decided to order the compression shorts from 010gear.com they arrived in decent time although I wasn't happy about the fact that they did not provide a tracking # (for those who have dealt with me will know I am really anal about tracking #, i need to know where it is and when etc, I have lost plenty of parcels so when I am not provided a tracking # it really really irks me, OCD in me) anyways i gave it 2 weeks and then emailed them to which Iain O'Brien replied (well atleast the signature was Iain O'Brien, director 010....) stating they should be there shortly.

They arrived a few days later and i got to use these last saturday, So first up looks decent, i kinda like the purple stitching. White one seems to have a slightly *better compression material than the black one. Pouch inside is not really a pocket that if you put a box in it would stay in, so when I saw that I thought crap this isn't gonna work because its like wearing compression shorts and putting a box in there but i was surpised at actually how comfortable it was and there was no movement/sliding of the box. So it does do what it is supposed so do but just as compression wear it disappoints a little bit. Why? here it goes...

* Skins are my choice for compression wear, white shorts from 010 are similar to skins material but still of slightly thinner/stretchier, black one are almost more stretchy. I am not sure if i am explaining this right but these are almost too comfortable/stretchy to be good compression to/for me....

here are some pics..

I just got some of these and am massively impressed so far, I bought an aero box to go inside them and its very comfy (although so far have only batted in the nets with them) i get your point about the compression thing but think these feel right enough to do a job both in the field and when batting, I suppose you could always wear your skins for fielding and these for batting in?

I use Aero ones which are fraction of these in terms of price.

I don't like the pocket for box as I'm uncomfortable using it so I just wear my ShockDoctor over it.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts Tom, I stand by my statement that they do a good job of holding the box in place but lack compression...CF folks disagreed in the compression aspect but agreed that black ones very stretchy, which in my thick head sounds like lower compression capability but i am not an expert in compression wear...

I have only got a set of the white ones so cant make that comparison im afraid, have tried them on and seem comfortable but true test will be when in use in nets etc and with no pouch for a box like the Shock Doctors either im not sure what route to take

If anything white ones are better compression wear than black in my opinion. I just slid the box inside these without anything else and it did not move much...to get into detail basically my underwear, these shorts on top and box inbetween...we run every 6 balls in nets, taking a quick single, as we net in pairs and never once needed to adjust the box

Yeah we do the same but every 3 balls to try and replicate a match scenario and get the heartbeat going, will give it ago tomorrow and see how they perform.

Riddy they are £25.00 which is very good for a UK made product
