Reviews on CA requested
« on: February 07, 2013, 08:31:32 AM »

Dear Ppl

What are your reviews on CA bats as I can understand quite a few intl players are using it but with different stickers. Anyhow as we all know CA only sponsors three players currently Nasir Jamshed,James Franklin and Dilshan. I am thinking of getting one and as you all know it doesnt come cheap so reviews would be great.

Thanks'

I have never used one personally but team mates have them and I have played against plenty of people with them and they do seem good bats. A guy got a ton against us with one last year and his was awesome. I have never seen a handle go on one but I believe this is quite common. I am sure more people will help you on here. The only thing I would watch for if you do get one are fakes. Think its been covered on here before about CA bats with fake stickers, so make sure you buy from somebody you trust.

I have used CA 10000 a couple of seasons ago , and have found it to be an excellent bat. They have mid to low middle which I find suits my front foot style of play with lots drives. Pick up is really nice and balanced. The handle was on the thinner side so I used two grips. I would also suggest to go for higher end models like 10000, 12000, 15000 plus as I have found their other models to a bit of hit and miss.
Again beware of fakes and only buy from someone you trust.

On this forum I would suggest Asad (Uzi Sports). Have a word with him.

I have one as a net bat, but its pretty decent. I wouldn't be too bothered if I had to use it in a match. Middle is good, nice pickup, nothing bad to say about it really

One our of under 17s regularly gets them froma cousin who works in their factory and they seem pretty nice bats to me - possibly a little overdried on occasion, especialy in the lower end models, and certainly the flattest faces I've seen, but nice willow fairly graded and well shaped.  I don't know if the handles are great - there have been rumours that they're not super durable.

In terms of models, the Plus 5000 and above should be okay.

You're wrong about the sponsorship mind - there are quite a few Bangladeshis use them (Tamim Iqbal included) as well as Azhar Mahmood, a few Kiwis and a couple of West Indians.

Any bat could break eaarly if its not knocked in right - though as I've noted above, the lower end ones do seem very dry which would lead to fears of breakage.

Played against a guy last season who said that he'd tried loads of different brands, but now only buys CA, he absolutely loved them - it had a great sound as he was tonking it round the park...

It was a 12000 I think

I read that in addition to fake CA stickers, the edge branding is also done on fake bats now
