Newbery gt335 on eBay
« on: February 10, 2013, 06:16:40 PM »

Hi,

There is a gt335 sps being sold on eBay. I am tempted to bid on but not 100% sure it is sps grade as the face doesn't look quite right and the 335 sticker below the GT sticker at the bottom of the bat on the back is offset as opposed to centred as with all other GT's.
The seller states it as a D1 stamp on the shoulder and suggests that this is very relevant. Does anyone know what the D 1 stamp refers too?
Apologies if it is anyone here selling, I'm just checking before spending some cash.

Thanks.

The stamp is usually the year it was made, I think.
If it's the 2.8 one, I'd wonder about the grey blue look to the wood on the shoulder. Water/storm damage?

If its the bat Alvaro has posted a pic of the seller has a history of selling supposedly fake bats. However as it has the trademark Newbery stamp I'd say it's genuine if a little tatty. save your money or buy the Cadbury that's still up for sale at the moment.

Yes, that's the one I was looking at. Might just steer clear of eBay. Seems like a bit of a minefield.

Stickers are legit, recently refurbed would be my guess but there are bargains to be had that are BN and for only a few quid more from the bat specialist sponsors on here

Asad's Newbery stock at Uzi Sports looks very impressive. These are only 5* :o

I think this has been covered before, but I was checking out the gt335 5 star on a few sellers sites ( I really want a gt335!!!) on a few sites it states the 5 star is grade 3, and a few it states grade 2. I'm very confused by the whole thing. Do sellers decide or the maker?

I don't honestly think it matters if you buy from a trusted seller. I always though SPS was G1+, Player G1 and 5 Star G2.
I think there are guys who swear by their 5 Stars too, The Bird from memory.

Yep had mine for 3 seasons and its still a gun, Most of the sellers on here handpick them from the chalet so your best bet is to go through them.

I'm sure it is all objective, but Uzi say 5 star is g2 and talent say g3. Both are well respected and good sellers, it just confuses buyers who rely on this sort of info when buying online.
