T1 pads are awesome...Can you imagine the thought process they went through that had these as the eventual outcome  :D  The mind boggles!

I do like the look of that bag though - it's moved with the times with me - I've trimmed my kit down to 3 bats and if the bat holding thing is secure/padded enough (though hope they've accounted for people with bats from oversized clefts!) I'll probably get one of those as my current bag is too big (and I don't take 5 bats to games anymore)

They're still my favourite brand, but each year they seem to think they're invincible with innovation for innovations sake, trading on (very) past glories.

They'll always have their market (sticks hand up!) but they're testing my faith!

Can we have a sweepstake on what's the cheapest price we'll see these (T1 pads) from a retailer before the end of 2013? (Will any retailers actually stock them?!)

I'm saying £45.

Rest of the range looks good, but very over priced

you've answered a lot of questions there.

they can release the polarizing pads whilst charging top money simply because of one thing.....the strength of the brand.

small suppliers take note, brand = power

It's just Veblen pricing, which has always been M&H's MO - a worrying trend tbh as it's driven a couple of other new brands to shamelessly (IMO) assume a similar position. Though the new brands adopting this strategy will need to do a lot to acquire the same reputation/brand/prestige/heritage that M&H has.

Good point, well presented.

It takes either a lot of time or a lot of money and quickly to build a brand.

These days small firms an utilise buyer feedback as their marketing 'currency'

Its true - people see M&H (and also brands like Salix, Gunn & Moore and to a lesser extent Newbery) and immediately think of them as premium quality.

Of course, in many ways, they are.  Not necessarily of a quality to match the prices they would like to charge - but they have created the idea in people's heads that their product are somehow more exclusive than the market norm.

Now, I have to say that I have a lot of time for M&H bats - I've had three and they've all been good uns.  Whether they have been worth the top line price (which I didn't pay) is another matter entirely.

I hope someone does a review of the T1 bag, it looks similar to design I had a while ago...I would be really interested in hearing people's thoughts on it before i decide if i want to take the plunge...

I have always had high esteem for a brand like Millichamp and Hall due to them being very prestigious and exquisite. However, after their recent addendum I was perturbed due to aesthetically reason only as I preferred precursor kit. This was solely due to tan leather which in my opinion made them a lot more exquisite, hence, I hastily bought a pair off Johnny :D

Maybe I don't like 'big' bags but T1 looks enormous!!

Dan W, perfectly summed up. Always enjoy reading your post :)

Paul, when you get the tan leather keeping gloves please let me know.

Uzair, do you have a M&H bag? if yes and you are not using it could you let me know how big, bat pockets etc and how much you would want for it? I might just buy it off you...

I could be in the minority here but Millichamp and Hall kit has never realy made me think wow.

Yes they have produced outstanding bats and there bags well if you like that kind of thing but there pads and gloves have always been a bit gurish no matter how they do there instep and things.

Yes, I have M&H Canvas Medium but it has deteriorated over the months and it is really not in pristine condition albeit from outside it looks in great nick but the zip joint at the bottom has come off due to stitching and support inside have been falling apart. It was from Millichamp and Hall clearance bin so it was expected perhaps.

I will never sell it due to its condition but if you want it then you can have it for gratis mate.

Thanks for the offer Uzair, could you send me some pics? also is it big enough for bats to fit inside? I emailed M&H abt T1 earlier today but haven't heard back.

I'm saying £45.

We won't stock the T1 stuff. The pad is pretty out there. Though I do have a real desire to kit myself out in garish fashion:

M&H T1 pad
Kook Menace Mittens
GM Zona Bat

As for the people commenting on the pricing. Yes it's expensive, but remember this is them selling at rrp.

We are selling the T2 pad for £85

I quite like the new creamy white leather. The tan leather was iconic and classy, and I fell in love with it a while back, I had batting pads and gloves as well as the keeping stuff, but maybe they are right in deciding its time for a change.

As Paul mentioned, you can still get most of the old tan leather stuff if you really want it.
