I don't understand why people take so much junk to matches. I only need a duffle bag...
With bags now similar prices to coffins, we may see a resurgence. I suspect people also like the extra room the bag you get with these sgian bags.

Perfection, it would need to be wide enough for batting pads but a longer, slimmer bag is easier for space. It can slide under seating so it's out of the way.

Newbery do a hockey bag which is close but wouldn't fit pads in I don't think.

Exactly, a lot of hard shell luggage could potentially do the job but just isn't big enough. There is no reason that this design, plus folding handle, couldn't be made of a lighter material. I've actually been looking for something along these lines.

3 pair of gloves including keeping
3 pairs of footwear
3 bats
Complete thigh protection

Minimum length for me is 100x40x40

Gorilla boxes are ok but it hard to fit bats in

Nope just kind I do not like people using my main kit but I share my other kit out so always take that amount it only one spare set realy

I normally carry a side Bag with whites and clothing and shower gear as well

The kit I showed on your kit 2013 is the kit in the bag I carry

I know what you mean, someone always forgets their kit. I think it's shows is that there is a market for afforable, lightweight coffins and practical, comfortable duffles, seize the moment mr Aldred...!

It would seem to me, judging by most of the comments, that no company has got their design 'right' for any kind of cricket bag yet! Definitely a gap in the market!

I can see a lighter more convenient coffin appealing to some, especially if the cost was brought down to a reasonable level. I can also see that a duffle, perhaps based around the design of the Newbery hockey bag The_Bird posted would pretty much tick all the boxes for a lot of people, myself included.

I do want to take less gear to cricket in general this year but I want a bag that fits it all in comfortably and doesn't require a degree in Origami to fit what kit I do take into it! Separate boot pocket and one that can carry all your clothes is a must!

bag designs are a difficult one. theres 2 older guys at my club who had coffins for years. they have both since moved onto the same slazenger bag (dont ask me why) and they both love it.

coffins are great but without wheels are heavy and cumbersome but they do offer great protection. there are obviously the soft coffin type bags/double decker bags which are probably the closest you can get to a modern version.

the other issue is your never going to please everyone. i do agree that price is a major factor but then again some bags at the moment are �100+ and therefore not much different to some of the coffins out there.

I bought a soft coffin the other day the slazenger ultimate for 27 notes from sports direct as good a bag as i have used and i have used a few.

Are bags that important there the least bit important to me as long as there big enough and have a wet pouch/vault.

I just never have or do trust my bats in a bag ever

you could make something special.

Cheap, light, lots of external and internal protection, able to keep kit separate (important for wet and sweaty kit), good for branding......

They are so easy to make you could get them made in any size.
