Kookaburra refurb
« on: February 17, 2013, 02:27:21 PM »

Was asked by a club mate if I could do anything with there bat. Was in a bit of a bad way and I said I'd give it a bash. Here are the pictures before.

Glued the cracks and clamped them, gave it a light sanding. My mouse sander decided to not work so it was all done with elbow grease. Went over with a few grades of paper gave it a little buff and this is how she is now. The crack looks a little open in the toe, but that's due to some wood falling out when the crack happened, it's all solid and doesn't move at all. Finished off with a shoe goo toe guard.

Probably not the best of refurbs or one of the best efforts on here. But I'm fairly happy with it, the pictures don't do how bad the damage was justice lol

I sorted him out with a CF, he just wanted a bat for nets and wet games I suppose so fixed this as well!
Still sounds a lot more solid from the toe and no more de lamination there.
