Your Dyna Drive experience
« on: February 21, 2013, 03:36:06 PM »

Just wondering for those of us who ordered the new Dyna drives what has your experinece been with the bat? I knocked mine around a bit last saturday and to say the least I was underwhelmed to the extent that I am considering getting rid of mine or putting it in a cover store it away (which doesn't help the bat I know)...

Just felt very hard pressed, almost like GM, with very poor rebound :(...anyone been using their? I guess i need to be more patient with it...

Yes, they do feel reasonably hard, but i didn't think it was that bad.

I think mine felt worse as I had been using a BB just before. Will give it some knocking and then give her a fair try but just felt disappointed...I find these pre-prep'd bats are more misleading to users as we go in thinking its ready to go ( i know every bat needs some playing in) and then are disappointed by the performance or lack of it.... mine might have been just a bad luck case...but just even bouncing the ball on it goes nowhere...

You may not have a good one. When I picked mine up from Paul, it wasn't amazing off the mallet, but as soon as i bounced a ball on it, it felt much better.

My bog standard one is a beauty. Not in the same league as the custom mades we've got for a few people, but an absolute belter for the £160 bracket.

I agree it feels a little harder than i would expect, but nothing too serious.

Totally agree mine is a brilliant bat the sweet spot is huge and bat is very well balanced, maybe you just got a dud or maybe it just doesn't suit your style of play, don't think it will be hard for you to get a decent price back on it.

Did you guys knock yours in at all? i did not knock mine, I am going to give it time, if its still not good then prolly put it away somewhere, no point selling it if no good..

Knocked mine in for maybe an hour mainly edges and toe, spent about 15 mins on the actuall middle of the bat. I'm not saying my Dynadrive is the best bat I own but for a middle of the range bat it does go very well.

Paul's knocking is superb by the way.

Got to say very disappointed with this bat so far. I wanted to like this bat I really did given the nostalgia and the reputation. I owned the scoop previously and that was just the same, not amazing pick up for the amount of wood removed and vibrations galore when tapped up. I hope I'm wrong when I get bat on ball but so far not so good!

I'm pretty happy with mine. As others said it's not up there with a custom, but for the price it's pretty damn good. Mine was hand picked and knocked in by Paul as well. I've had one net with it and I'm pretty happy.

Pickup is excellent. I have a Thruxton that is half an ounce lighter and the Dyna picks up lighter! Overall I'm a very happy with the Dyna.

Guys I just think a lot of the Dynadrives are pressed very hard and will take a whie to open up, mine is dead at the moment lower down the blade but the middle goes very well, keep knocking them in and I reckon they will be crackers, GN don't make many poor bats in my experience.

I have started knocking mine in and have noticed that especially where the blade bows is exceptionally hard, uber planky, you move up a little bit from the bow and it gets better but from bow down its fairly crap off the mallett...
