New Brands
« on: February 21, 2013, 08:29:15 PM »

Just wondering given the new brands emerging is anyone going to be stocking them this season,

the likes of New Balance and of course Spartan as i would love another CG Authority in my kit bag as my team mates keep telling me my bat really should be illegal and i think Spartan would sell very well in the UK

New balance isn't coming to the UK until at least 2014

Spartan. God knows. Most distributors i speak to reckon they are on the cusp of agreeing the deal to distribute spartan. Whenever it eventually happens I expect chaos, and probably stupidly high minimum order terms like Adidas, so it's unlikely I'll be stocking them.

No idea who makes new balance. Then again, have they made any bats yet? Trott is using left over GM and is steyn just using the shoes? He'll have some Slazenger sticks kicking about that can be easily stickered.

There's something on Facebook offering kit you can buy through NB in SA, so I presume they must have made a few. There seems to be a big difference in cost between the lowest and highest bat, but it's in SA money and not sure how that converts to UK pound.

its around 13 rand to the £1, which is a good exchange rate. When I went it was 10.8 to the £1, and food and wine was ridiculously cheap.

I'm fro. SA and I've checked out their stuff in some stores. Bats are not great at all, would say Indian made but not by one of the top manufacturers since the shape and finishing on these bats are fairly poor. Overpriced in my opinion. Softs are the same.
I am a bit disappointed since I expected something better from them in order to compete with the other bigger brands.

A few people saw the new brand of bat that I took along to the new at Choice on Sunday. If it is ok with Admin I will show it and the complete stock including the range of bats and softs. I ask as I don't want to upset paying forum sponsors.

Thanks

There's a new brand called Redwood on Twitter at the moment, actually really like their stickers.

Run by ex-Romida guy. Scott Richardson.

Black stickers look classy. Not sure on the other two colours.

Have to say they look very bland to me, very little care appears to have gone into these.
