Choice Aussie Review
« on: March 05, 2013, 11:52:07 AM »

I'm always on the look out for a good deal and saw this Choice Aussie on ebay last week. With the seller only 5 minutes down the road, I thought I would have a look at it. For the price I paid, I thought it was worth a punt. Choice cricket are a bit of an unknown to me but it seems like the real deal due to the TSI (Toe strengthening insert) which they offer when looking on their website.

The Specs
Model - Aussie
Weight - 2.14 (two grips, one spiral hence the heavy weight)
Edge - 27mm
Spine - 49mm
Middle position - Low
Grains - 6

As you can tell from the photo's, its not going to win any best grain competitions but I was never expecting it to. Their are quite a few specs on the face, but nothing too major. The seller stated that the bat was recently refurbished but did not know the age of the bat. Can anybody enlighten me about the Aussie model at all?

The bat seems to have had little use, with no cracks visible and only a couple of dents on the back. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it taps up nicely with the mallet. I'm not quite used to the bottom heavy pick up that this bat offers, but hopefully with time those fears will ease.

While re-gripping the bat, I noticed that the handle had £150 stock written on the handle, so it seems like I have got a bit of a bargain. :D

Has anyone else got a Choice bat? I'm interested to find out people's opinions about the brand. Any help will be greatly received.  :D

Hi.
Gary Sandford, the bat maker at Choice, makes fantastic bats.
We had a forum demo there recently.

Lots of guys in my club use Choice. I've not seen a bad one.

Enjoy!

Ahh, that makes sense. How popular were the different country stickers? Also, how old do you think the bat is?
