Got to say, huge fan of test matches being played at venues like this. The Army sound like 30 lads belting out Jerusalem in a car park. Got the surround sound, and could swear I heard a bloke just stub his fag out :)

Proper cricket viewing, in a stunning country, with your mates whilst having a beer at 10am.

Probably the best spectator sport in the world in an environment like that...

In NZ we had a policy of playing our test cricket at the smaller "boutique" grounds, Dunedin, Napier & proper cricket grounds, Hamilton & the Basin Reserve. Its too bad NZ Cricket has decided to go against that policy & host a test @ Eden Park this summer, what a shocker of a cricket ground that is.

I suspect Taylor's GM isn't a GM. The toe is too round

I think I noticed there wasn't any stickers on the top of the shoulder either before lunch. May be because I'm tired though

Is there anyone out there who thinks Stuart Broad should be in the England test side? Or any England side for that matter?

well I guess that's the only one who counts. I just can't see it and haven't seen it for a few years now.
I also don't like the aggressive route the England bowlers went down last night. It just doesn't suit Anderson and Finn. Made them look a little silly I think.

I thought Anderson came off looking foolish when he was shouting in the face of Taylor (I think). The Kiwis already had over 300 on the board so, apart from the pressure release of taking a key wicket, there really was no need for it.

I thought Broad bowled OK. 2 wickets in a decent spell (OK, it was only Southee and whatsisface) but it was far better than his production in India. His speed was up and he was putting it in the right places more often than not. I dare say that Onions would have done equally as well, but that is one long tail if you have Finn, Anderson, Onions and Monty.

You can't doubt Monty!! He's awesome. I'll let him off his batting just because he tries so darn hard and cares! (unlike pretty boy Broad)

Unfortunately I think Onions bowled himself out of a chance of a Test match or 2 over here in the warm-up match. I reckon Woakes will get the nod now if England want another seamer

Is play starting at 9 tonight again does anyone know?

'Hate' is a bit harsh, he's not a child molester, just a very frustrating cricket player

2100 yes mate. 30 mins early again. It's nice it starting while it's not the wee hours of the morning :)

Yeah I don't 'hate' Broad.. Can't hate someone I don't know. I do just dislike his perceived attitude and would rather the players playing for England were the guys in form and not walking ego's. Still, would KP have ever played in that case.. probably not.

Come on NZ.. Declare.. get the lads in and lets see if we can save the game! I'd also venture that Onions has moved down the pecking order so barring some terrible injuries etc I'd say he's played his last game for England. In the format that matters anyway.

Yes it starts at 9. And I don't actually "love" Monty either. It was just a figure of speech mate.

Does anyone else fancy us to rescue a draw?
