Thigh pads
« on: March 15, 2013, 09:45:24 AM »

Well they have just arrived my first proper order from stretton of my new beautiful thigh pads. I'm a lucky man really played the game I love for a living coach the game and to top it off have all the best kit at my fingertips. Pity I don't play much any more I would be laughing then. Mind you might sneak a cheeky net against the bowling machine soon see how I go. Am still hurting from bowling non stop for two hours the other night at nets where I was coaching
Anyway I digress here's a pic of the lovely thigh pads before they get posted out to those lucky people and wait for there first reactions on them

They are £110 for the outer and inner. We have had to make a slight amendment to pricing as due to a misunderstanding I thought the extra hip guards were free but they aren't so we have let the first few out without charging the £15 for them. To be honest I most people won't need the extra guard unless you are very tall. Luke who had the first one is 6" and he doesn't need it anywhere near and he's pushing county level ( unicorns and county trials at the min) also if you are tall the angle of the ball tends to negate the hip bone anyway.
Whilst they seem expensive they are a piece of kit that will last years and will become part of you as they shape to your body.
I know hey are mine but I honestly reckon they are possibly the best on the market. What a great job stretton fox have made of them for us. Thanks George.

Don't forget this guys yes I did misjudge one and hit me flush behind the leg, its the one that just drops straight down and yes it did hurt but old habits die hard never let the bowler see its hurt you.

Will have to put one up with me with a bat in hand I reckon so you don't get so much pleasure from my misery. Mind you you may die laughing watching me bat :)

very tricky to find - a nylon bossing mallet might be worth looking at - if you use the fat end -

Jackass is about right. It is a little disconcerting without a bat in hand at that pace I must admit.

Well mine have arrived, and they look brilliant, I just need to slowly mould them into 'my shape' and then get using them.

As everyone knows, Paul is excellent to deal with, I won't be facing a machine without a bat, but I will be trying them out on Monday and Tuesday in the nets.

Thanks Paul, and thanks to George for such a great product.
