Oh and if I wanted another bat similar to the laver (spare just in case) are there cheaper alternatives (with the CTen handles etc) - coud one of the other custom manufacturer make me one?
I don't think any brand has the C-ten equivalent, the closest you could get is probably a C6 handled bat, and you could get BB or Bulldog to get it made for you. I don't think it would be quite the same though, as the C6 handle is a good few ounces lighter, so actually picks up a little heavier, while the C-ten handle is slightly top heavy, so acts as a counterbalance. Also, I think the C-ten handle also allows for a little bit of flex, which absorbs the shock, while I'm not too sure about the C6 handles. You're probably better off asking someone who has used both! I really like the C-ten handle, it just took a while to get used to due to how Laver bats are pressed, but once they start playing in, they get better with each net session.
If you want, you could buy a Puma Ballistic 6000 from Aswani, which has a C6 handle, and will probably cost you somewhere between 70-120 less than a C6 custom!
