2 Strap Pads
« on: March 19, 2013, 04:11:15 PM »

Afternoon Chaps,

Looking to get another set of 2 strap pads, now I'm a puma man but the straps are 2" longer and annoying on the new stuff plus the top hats seem massive. Anyone know of other brands that have these.

Ones I know of are

SS Gladiator, around £65
Shamrock/ninja/BB do the moulded ones but not sure there are any available.

Any others? ( the_bird, I'm relying on you for pictures  ;)

Thought I remembered some of the shamrock ones being up for sale on here

No idea if they're still available but might be worth checking as they're a bargain at that price.

SS Gladiators as you mentioned: http://www.vitascricket.co.uk/products.php?id=750

Or the M&H T1 if you can get your head round the look of them: http://www.vitascricket.co.uk/products.php?id=912

We don't carry the Gladiators in store as 2 straps aren't overly popular. We can go and collect anything you want from SS on the same day as you order it though, as they are just down the road.

No worries, i'm not a big fan of 2 straps myself, usually because they have something else 'gimmicky' about them, but the Gladiators seem very nice, and comfy too.

Those gladiator pads do look very good, I do like my shamrock ones and haven't noticed any difference in fit due to them being 2 strap. The gladiator ones would probably be a bit more hard wearing with them being pu faced, I'd be interested to know how much they weigh in comparison to other lightweight pads.

I've got a 2 strap puma (PDC) and a 3 strap puma (Aswani) both seem equally good...i find the flextech ones can be problematic to some users but i have had no issue...once you get used to the feeling of pads feeling lose near the knee its alright...

apologies for the sideways pics

Rob, picked up your Gladiators from SS today on our way down to raid the oval shop of the stock they are clearing after closing down.

I can't get over how light they are. For a 2 strap pad (which I'm not a big of) I'm very impressed by both the look of them and also the material used on the front. Not sure how to describe it but I really like it.

Anyway, these will be dispatched to you tomorrow mate.
