A Very Good Choice
« on: March 26, 2013, 06:21:54 PM »

Evening Guys, following our net at the Choice Willow Centre last month this is my first cricket bat from Choice Willow.  A brief outline of what i was after. I saw Gary making a bat as part of our forum visit and all of the Choice bats looked lovely and i was really drawn to the lovely traditional profiles of Garys bats. At the time however i had just bought a BB, and also arranged with Ryan to make my an RK custom but i really wanted a choice as well, so i spoke to Gary and told him what i was after and ny budget and he said he would see what he could do.  Well a few weeks went by and to be honest i had forgotten all about my conversation with Gary when my phone rang and Gary said it was all done so i paid my money and waited for the box to arrive, which it did today.

Specs

2.7 in weight (i dont have scales at home but that it what i asked for and it feels around that mark) oval handle with single spiral grip, 32mm edges and approx 45mm spine height. 9 dead straight grains then an inch or so of lovely heartwood on the RH outside edge.  Mid positioned middle and a traditional profile.

The performance is hard to say as not used yet but tapping up an old ball it pings into my ceiling with minimal effort so i reckon this could end up being a great bat for the price.  The bat i will point out is a factory 2nd as there is a small repaired crack in the back of the bat by the shoulder but this was fully explained to me by Gary and for £124 delivered i think this is a great bat.

Are the stickers on the front the same as the back? We did ask for the fattus to post some in his thread but he's let us down so far

It's very sexy. Probably not as good as mine, but it's very sexy nonetheless.

Maybe fattus maybe, at least mine will be used as intended and it will know what it's like to be used by a batsman lol.

Oh Christopher!! There's batsmen and there's 'proper batsmen'.

No-one bats like me!

There is a reason for that Mr Fattus lol.

Tell you what now we both have our choice bats I will arrange a net after Easter at Choice and we can see who's is best?
