Visit to Millichamp & Hall
« on: March 27, 2013, 09:18:10 PM »

Evening All,

I am going to Taunton tomorrow to pick our new M&H bats.  We will be stocking all their bats this year, and in larger numbers than last year...

If anyone has any specific requests, please do let me know, as there's still time to add bats to our order - I'm sure I could find some beauties for you whilst I'm there...

I will update this thread with photos when I get back home tomorrow evening.  For now, here is a provisional list of what we're going to get: http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/millichamp-hall-m34

Oof. They hit the wallet hard those boys...
Paul, it would be interesting to hear your opinion of overall quality when you get back if possible.

Maybe too late, though if you see a Master 2'10-2'12 that looks HUGE, do let us know!

Travelling back now. Got a couple of light (2.9/2.10) Masters, but one has already been sold. Also got a 2.8 amplus and some other rather nice sticks. I am travelling home with the 1st load of bats and all the bags and T1 gloves too...

Liam, I was going to go last friday but in the end had to rearrange for today. Sorry about the confusion!

I've heard a lot of negative comments about M&H's bat weights on here, but no such issues today, and I guess this is one of the benefits of hand-picking bats... Our selection included a 2.8 Amplus, a 2.9 Master, a 2.6 Harlequin and a 2.7 Original Low.  Only one of the 11 bats we picked was heavier than 2.10 (a 2.11 Distinction)...

Photos are on our Facebook page - will try and get them added here later this evening...

Why did it have to be a 2.11 Distinction... Of all the possible combinations... >:( Sometimes I think you do this on purpose Paul hahaha!  ;)

Just wanted to add one thing I really like about M&H that isn't covered much - with the exception of the Original bats, they knock in everything, and it's all done by hand.  Unlike GM and various others, they are always properly done, indentations everywhere on the blade, edges perfectly rounded etc.  Another justification for the price tag, and saves us doing all the work!  8)
