A few months ago I asked for members advice on where to get my Laver bat re-handled. Andy (from Laver) got involved in the thread and as I had been disappointed with the bats feel and performance (I thought that the handle might be contributing to this), he offered a complete replacement free of charge. Great costumer service and something I wasn't expecting.

Well here it is… and I think she's a thing of beauty :)

Spec
Laver & Wood Reserve / 2lb 9oz (arrived bang-on) / Standard Blade / Short Handle / Oval C-Ten – thinner than standard / Lamitoe

Pickup
Very good and well balanced. As you'd expect from an individually made bat, produced by a master craftsman.

Profile
I had to ask for something like Chad's Laver Hosk Scat profile. Also after the recent demise of my Scat Series 3 Professional, I was looking for something similar to replace it for this season.
http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=20809.0

Grains
9, distinct, straight ones throughout the whole bats length, with no blemishes.

Ping
I've had a 15mins thrown down session with it on Thursday and although I was a bit tentative, its response was very good. However, I felt that it needed more mallet time (about 4-6hours). So i know what I'll be doing today and Bank Holiday Monday.

Looking forward to giving it a proper go in the nets in the coming weeks. That's when I'll get a much better idea of the bats performance.

I hope that there's enough time to get her ready before the season starts :)

That looks to have a proper profile!
Have you got a photo of the toe upwards so I can get an idea of the amount of concaving (if any)?

I hope it goes as well for you as my PB is going! :) Sadly, mine may have to go, depending on funds... It does go extremely well with the C-ten handle though, takes a while to get used to, but it is certainly good!

Thanks. It's going to be a close call between this and my hades at the begin of the season. The hades is going really nicely! Great to have a choice between 2 lovely bats :)

This profile or the Hades? Thats a tough choice as Andy can make a seriously stonking bat!
Whichever you choose, I hope it goes well for you!

That looks one stunning bat. The profile is just about perfect, the grains are just about perfect, and the stickers are yep, just about perfect ;)

I'm not a massive fan of Laver's Ultra due to the very pronounced swell, but this is right up my alley!

That is one of the nicer looking bats in terms of grains. If that had a signature sticker on it, I wouldn't be shocked.
