Yeah, I enjoy it for a couple of weeks - but it does go on forever and by the time it gets towards finishing I hardly bother to watch the semis/final as there's just been too much cricket.

I'm going to be watching it more this year for various reasons. Before I only watched the odd match.

I've read a couple of previews for this season. If anyone fancies a punt then this was a decent read: http://gamblerfalls.com/ipl-2013-preview/

I enjoy watching the IPL, although I don't agree with the millions of Dollars spent in it I think the action is great to watch and all the international players playing together is something not seen anywhere else.

I did at first but quickly tired of it because the structure is so wrong - you get a lot of teams who sepnd a fortune on big hitting overseas batsmen and even more on any Indian lad who can get it off the square plus one "gun" bowler per team.  The other overs are sent down by a succession of third and fourth rate local players who wear the harried look of those who know they have been set up as cannot fodder from the very start.  Its not a contest...

Pretty much agree with all that. Indians players (barring the obvious players!) are all utter rubbish and then you have a few has been's and a few 'stars' who pretty much cream the second rate or 'T20' specialist bowlers (Luke Wright etc). It was interesting the first season but now is utterly boring. I can honestly say I have no interest in it and won't watch a thing, I also don't know anyone else that will watch it unless there happens to be nothing else on. Doesn't mean it's a flop as the Indians love it and tbh, as there are millions more of them than us brits! So I suspect they couldn't give a crap what we as a nation think.

Question is: How long will India have a test team for? Before they decide to just say that ODI/T20 is the only cricket that should be played.

Money talks...but the ipl is not what it used to be. Stadiums are not as full as they used to be. I give the ipl another 5 years in its current format. Reduce the number of matches and make it a shorter event, and it will create much more interest.

I think it's hurting the Aussie test team as well.
