Yellow sweat stains
« on: March 31, 2013, 07:36:31 PM »

Alright Lads,
Im awaiting some kit from Jake @ Vitas cricket which concludes of the new GN Legend pads. Anyways my GM original LE pads have yellow sweat staining on the shin bolster which looks awful in my opinion. Does anyone know how to stop the white getting stained yellow???

Cheers
Tony

Bat for a good time not a long time?;)
I think it's pretty unavoidable unless you have detachable inserts.

If there's a bit in the middle you can pull apart to look inside you might find some mould in there too  ;)

Getting a small towel/face cloth and putting it between your pad and shin could work?

Get a white one and make sure you hide it well?

On a slightly different note, make sure you have 2 pairs of whites. So if you field first and get dirty whites. You can then change to the clean ones to stop it transferring to your pads

Brilliant tip, something I learnt after ruining a pair of brand new pads a few seasons back  :(

i always use two pairs of whites, one for getting grass stained and ripped in the field and a clean pair to stop my pads getting discoloured from the grass etc.
