TON/SS Galdiator pads 2013
« on: April 04, 2013, 03:42:19 AM »

A little look/review of the new TON Gladiator moulded 2 strap pads. So these are the new branded gladiator pads for 2013. The pads look good in the flesh, not a bright white which is good, they are a kind of bubbly Matt look finish. Weight is 650grams per pad. Quality wise not bad, stitching on the bottom is a little haphazard. Certainly not as well made as the puma fxt's but them the fxt's are double the price. These feel quite solid so im hoping they loosen up a bit once worn in. One thing I did notice is the front logo is printed on where as the stock photos of these pads seem to be a badge? Personally prefer the TON writing on these, even though one is not printed fully. It will be interesting to see how well these clean up once dirty.

Price £65 delivered ( From Vitas )

Is the face like the face of regular pads or is different? Only say this as players such as Sachin's look very different? Obvious difference in brand but still...?

face is different, it's kind of rough and looks like when you paint with a roller. Not smooth and leathery that's for sure

I have the SS branded versions from India - the SS badge on the bottom of these is a print rather than embossed as well.

They are really good - however if I had to stick my neck on the line I'd say the SG Maxilites are finished better.....in fact SG softs in general are really, really good quality, if a little horribly coloured !!

I have the SS branded ones direct from India.

They weigh less too.

I wore this Oz season past and they were excellent.

Better than the GM RSB's in that they have better side protection.

I love them.

Looking carefully at your pics, they have a different surface to mine.

Yours have the faux leather look of the GM RSB's, where as mine have a kind of plastic covering - hence why they are lighter I suspect.

Vic did you get yours from onlinestockist? If so, were they a smaller Indian men's size?

PU facing, like GM RSB.

@Smokem - mine are from OS...

Tough to tell if they are small mens.... But I'm 5-11 and they fit spot on.. They are also the same size as my shamrocks, ninjas and SG's.

60cm from the top of the arc that sits above your foot to the top of the pad or 65cm total length from bottom to top

Yes. I got them from onlinestockist.com from Ajit.

They are regular mens from what I can gather and fit me perfectly.
