I'm just really struggling for time at the minute. The only spare time I get is on weekends, and that's when I play cricket! Was contemplating taking a drawing and the metal to an engineering shop, but I want to do it myself. Might have to wait until the season's finished unfortunately...

!!! You got stuck making some part or the design doesn't work?
I do a little engineering as a hobby, it can be great fun........... or a real pain when something goes wrong >:(

That's a shame, would love to have seen a home made press.

Is it a hard concept to put together? Presumably it's got to be well built to withstand the force, but how difficult can it be - Only saying as my father in law is an engineering buff, and I'd secretly love to make one ;-)

I've just fallen out with it all, bat making as well, I've abandoned that too. The press never got very far, I got the roller put together and bought a workshop press, but never sorted the drive mechanism. I just don't seem to get any spare time these days and when I do, I've got other priorities I'm afraid.

You never know, I might finish this one off in the distant future.
