Medium right-hand peculiar bowling follow-through...
« on: April 11, 2013, 04:45:44 PM »

I am trying to sort my bowling run-up and follow-through.

I have found that the longer my run-up is, the better i bowl. Some would say i am a "rhythm" bowler.

I bowl at, i think, around 60-70 mph although its just a guess based on what my mates (independently!) have told me.

One peculiar thing about my action is that i jump using my right-feet when approaching the strip and land on my Right-foot as well. I don't know why i do that, but it seems to work for me. What are the pros and cons of this technique? Can you name any player who also has similar technique and can be found on Youtube?!

I am a batting all-rounder and known to bowl skiddy good length deliveries: many would say i am a good containing bowler as opposed to a strike bowler.

I am trying to figure out if my style of bowling genuinely impacts on the speed with which i can potentially bowl at or its just what it is.

Any insight will be helpful.

Cheers

If you are who I think you are then don't change. Its so bloody offputting as a batsman. Your action throws off the timing of your shots.

Won't change it now mate. Bolwing off the wrong foot looks horrible but if it works for you then just keep going!
