My setup for the afternoon!
« on: April 12, 2013, 01:16:47 PM »

My setup for the afternoon, ball in a sock from the ceiling, my question, is this a good way to knock my bat in? Cheers!

It's a good way to bring the plaster down  ;)

Got a mallet mate, just seems so much more fun this way! Is it any good though?

Damage to house versus damage to mallet? I know which is less expensive. And you'll knock the bat in a whole lot more quickly with the mallet, after getting bored with the sock/ball/rope set up.

Oops, I hit it too hard and the ball hit the ceiling/wall and made a hole/dent in the plaster? Sorry darling...

Ah!! childhood memories, god knows how many hours I spent doing this, although outside and not inside...should help knocking the bat in and also to get used to it...make you keep adjust the rope length so cover the entire bat...you will still need to knock in the edges

they should make a swingball with a cricket ball on it and smash the hell out it with a new bat!

its probably better to do keepie ups with a ball rather than put it in a sock to hit it like you are. personally id stick with the mallet to knock it in. will be quicker and will ensure better coverage of the blade.

For how many times the tennis ball flew off the end of mine that could be lethal!
Any forum sponsors interested in developing one of these???  ;)

How did this end then dan? Did the ball go soaring at the window eventually or is your bat sounding nicer?
