First of all, sorry for the average pic quality, I've spent 6 hours on the train today and my brain is quite frankly frazzled!
I thought I'd try and cheer up some of our more glum members (cricketers and rain do not go well!) so I'm going to do a little review of my B3 bat I received in the post this week. Now, I didn't get it through conventional means, I had more than a little fortune involved in this. The cricket commentary website TestMatchSofa was running competitions throughout March, where people could win cricket bats from different boutique companies (I know Choice and B3 were involved, not sure who else though) by answering a simple cricketing question. I don't really win competitions like this very often, so I was rather pleased when I found out I'd won a B3 cricket bat. It isn't a custom unfortunately (some other lucky sod won that!) but it is, however, a stonking bit of willow!
It weighed in at 2'10 on my kitchen scales, although they're not electronic (mum threw ours out, not a clue why but still) they've been accurate with my other bats in the past. It definitely doesn't look a 2'10 (I think it's pretty large for the weight), and picks up lighter as well, lighter than any bat I own (and I have one down at 2'8 as well), so it bodes very well. I tapped it up a bit earlier and it responded well, chucked a couple of balls up and hit them with it at the nets earlier as well and it sounds extremely sweet, and pretty forgiving down the toe. I've not tested the edges yet, but considering my inside edge on other bats always looks like it's been dragged through a hedge backwards I do hope there's plenty of wood there! Anyway, less rambling, more pictures, cause let's be honest nobody reads this, they just look at the shiny new cricket bats...
(like I said, blurry pic and shoddy scales! But you get the idea!)
