I change mine when I get bored of the colour and want something more pretty.

I've just had an English made quality (ahem) chevron last two nets ...
If and when it's needed I guess.

Exactly the same happened to me. I do find the UK made grips never last as long as the cheaper grips, but I find they are softer and provide better grip.
