Boom Boom Arrogance – Anyone got one?
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:33:50 AM »

Just wondering if anyone has one of these (if so where did you buy it from) and what you make of it so far?

I've seen the range at the Lords cricket shop.

They are remarkable in the fact they are so unremarkable.

Lots of concaving, probably made in the same factory as many other brands, a lot of money for what they are, a good name and that's all.

For the money you could get a custom bat off the forum (Ryan, Aldred, H4L to name but three).

Did you take a look at the Arrogance, Eddie? That's a different shape to anything in shops, due to the convex top of the bat and concave bottom.

The ones at the trade show were finished pretty poorly, and I wouldn't buy one. But the concept sounded relatively intriguing, if not a little similar to something SAF had done.

Last I heard, the UK arm of Boom Boom went bust, again.

So it is unlikely that many people who don't already have one will see their bats, our order (made in late January) never turned up.

I don't recall anything different when I looked at the range. I've another net next week so will have a closer look then.

Jason stocks them and will surely have something to add to this thread.  We have ordered some, but due to the BoomBoom restructure, they haven't arrived yet.  Shouldn't be much longer now though as they seem to be getting back on track from what I've heard...

They are quite an unusual shape - slightly smaller edges than you might expect, but good to see them trying something different.

I have to say, when I looked at one at the Lords shop, I was quite put off. The huge swell shape seemed to come from a lot of concaving, leaving an absence of meat.

I've seen similarly big-bottomed bats around with more meat behind them - my Choice is a good example.

I decided to pass on having one.

Seemingly people who seem (but not used) them have not been impressed but the one person who has one can't fault it?!

Intrigued by the shape and although not a huge fan of concaving, its the in thing and I have a couple of SS with high spine and concaving which go very well.

Hey mate, can you please take some pics and do a review.

Profile looks can be deceptive, it's only when you try them that you know how good they really are....

I am ordering the arrogance 100, I like the crazy profile and its light and mainly suited for front foot players. Yes it is extremely concaved and is with an off-set edge !

Hey guys sorry for the late reply been really busy with work. This is my boom boom arrogance 100. I got this bat around January Had to wait two and a half months for it cause talent cricket forgot to tell me it wasn't in stock >:(. The weight i asked for is 2.7 I asked for a light bat cause i mainly play indoor cricket due to my work commitments and can't play outdoor. Reason for me going for this bat was it just caught my eye and looked totally different from what i have seen. Also it's different everywhere i live is mainly only gray nic, kookaburra, puma and slazenger. But that's what you get when you live in Australia i suppose lol.

I have had extreme difficulty getting used to the bat at first and still am to now. The handle was alot thinner then previous round handle bats. I am about to put a 2nd grip on it to fill it out. Also For some reason as soon as i hold this bat i just want to hit everything as hard as i can lol. Maybe it's more of a mentality thing. I have never edged so much in my life on any bat compared to this for some reason cricket balls love finding the edge of this bat. Im not the only one on my team who agrees with me. I took it to the outdoor nets on the weekend for a smack to see how it would go. Went well When you get a hold of a ball it flies off the bat and this is only the 100. Overall i like the bat love the feel of the bat and is light enough for me for indoor cricket. Would i use it for outdoor? Probably not. Not my kind of bat for outdoor. Sorry if this is not a good review first time doing one not really sure what to write. Any questions about the bat ask away guys. Also sorry about picture quality was with my phone.
