My Screaming Cat Breakage
« on: May 03, 2013, 03:52:20 AM »

This bat has been struck on toe numerous times but today it was rather unfortunate instance where it struck and it broke. Pictures for my fellow forum members are below.

Would say it is sheer luck, every bat toe is vulnerable, in fact, every bat itself are vulnerable as they are made of natural product. I don't blame anyone nor I am wary of buying from Screaming Cat, in fact, this has tempted me to buy third one. Time will tell.

Anyways, pictures;

Will keep you all posted with repair job.

Cheers

ahhh bet your gutted mate, you always said that was your favourite bat :'(

It's worth an attentive fix anyways as you never know! Try glueing and maybe clamping the toe mate

That just made me feel a little sick.  Don't look good.  Sorry to see that mate.
Hopefully a buttload of glue and clamping will do the trick.

Definitely repairable. It's left quite a dent though which will need to come out.

Truly gutted! Just when it was reaching its peak really.

Guys, shall I glue/clamp it myself and start using it for season and get it professionally repaired once I'm in UK later this year OR I should keep it aside and get it repaired first when I'm in UK and then start using it?

Much appreciated

Put it to one side and get it professionally repaired.  No point in making the damage worse to what is a £300+ bat.  You'd hate yourself if for the sake of a few innings you made it irreparable.

Bad luck CD, a horrible moment when that happens. Personally unless your competent enough to fix it yourself I would get it professionally repaired.

A very similar break to my Woodstock Curve XL last season. I got a lot of advice from forum members after posting pics and finally got her professionally repaired by 'Vulcan' so can definitely recommend them. Fab comms and great service... Good luck.... I'm sure we've all been there and know exactly how you're feeling right now..

This is first time I have had such breakage of any bat so certainly not competent.

I think it is wise to keep it aside and get it professionally repaired rather than worsening the bat.

Thanks for everything guys, appreciate it.

I think I just died a little inside... :( Good shout to keep it until you can get it repaired in the UK! It just means you will have to raid your reserve gear to find one or 2 to replace it momentarily. ;)
