So last Saturday my little apprentice played for his club and scored a 84 ball 124* using his Blueroom with pink decals. Obviously in Gloucestershire no one knows about Blueroom. Turned out I had a T20 against them 3 days later so used my pink Blueroom rather than my rpc. Their faces dropped when they saw the bat and I took 15 off the first opening over... Went on to smash 78* off 39 Balls and they are now scared of anyone using blue rooms!!

Amused me when they said that

Oppos South African had D&P gear today. Classy.

A lot of ropey SM Pintu stuff amongst their ranks too. No bat should have the words 'bombastic ping' on the stickers...

I had another Hawthorn Sports bat this week, can not believe it.

My mate who plays for Garsington played against a guy kitted out in the full set of Affinity kit, bat and softs.  He did say the pads were really good, but he did not hang around long enough to see if the bat had a middle.

Guy at the weekend for Orset in Essex Div 1 had full Vulcan gear, can't remember his name but a very good left handed opener. Bat went like a gun.

A couple of weeks ago we played a bloke who had a GM Diamond Professional which looked as good as new. I seriously considered making him an offer there and then - maybe in the return fixture!

They also had a fella with a refurbed original Scoop.

The overseas at Netherfield in Kendal is D&P sponsored too.  Quite a history of professionals they have.

Dale Benkenstein, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Callum Ferguson, Charl Langeveldt, Dirk Nannes.  If you're fairly young and foreign, I would get on the blower to them for next year, either they know a player when they see one, bring good luck for the rest of your career, or they put something special in the water.

I remember as a teenager watching a young Jacques Kallis at Netherfield. One of my mates was particularly proud of his photo with him! They have had some quality pro's in their time

They really have, Colin Ackermann is the current incumbent.  Name to look out for perhaps given their track record.

Lovely part of the World too.  Two Premier League cricket clubs, beautiful grounds, mint cake and the fells nearby.

The south African pro we played against last Wednesday (jaco castle) had all d&p gear.

He hit some of the biggest sixes I'd seen with the bat too!

Jaco Castle scored a ton against us in a 15 overs midweek game a couple of years ago, very good player but was playing at completely the wrong standard.

I always liked playing at Netherfield as a kid, only played 2nd XI but I know my Dad played against Kallis and other top quality pro's in the Northern league at that time. Kallis was apparently awful with the ball but scored a lot of runs.
